Located near NYC's historic High Line in the heart of the Chelsea neighborhood, Rocket Pig brings together pork-loving visitors from across the globe in the name of good friends, good fun - and, most importantly, good food. After all, it's where happy pigs fly.
Before opening Rocket Pig, Swiss-born Ralf Kuettel (chef/owner of Trestle on Tenth, the restaurant next door) spent years perfecting possibly the best sandwich you will ever eat.
Sourcing pork shoulder from local farms, he brines it overnight then uses an old world spice rub before smoking it for three hours over alder wood. From there, it’s slow roasted before being sliced and served on ciabatta along with a house-made red onion jam and mustard aioli – with Ralf’s tangy hot sauce on the side.
The menu also features the signature smoky pork soup, salads, snacks and homemade baked goods, along with beverages (with wine and beer served in-store).
The sandwich shop is adjacent to the High Line in the Chelsea gallery district and offers a casual dining experience for eating in or taking out.
